Frequently asked questions

πŸ”Œ

My bike won't connect

Make sure your EKD01-BF display is powered on and nearby, and iPhone Bluetooth is on (Settings → Bluetooth). The top bar shows the current status.

Important: the EKD01-BF can only talk to one app at a time. If BikeGo (or any other companion app) is still connected to your display, VeloRadar won't be able to connect. Close BikeGo fully and revoke its Bluetooth access in iOS Settings → BikeGo → Bluetooth (turn it off). Then open VeloRadar and tap Retry.

If it's still stuck on "Connecting...", force-quit and reopen VeloRadar.

Garmin Varia not connecting

Make sure the Varia is powered on (one press of the power button). If it hasn't been used for 10+ minutes it may have auto-slept and powered off - press the button again to wake it. The radar icon in the top bar shows the connection status.

Route not importing from Mapy.cz / Komoot / Strava

In Mapy.cz, open your route β†’ Share β†’ VeloRadar. In Komoot or Strava, export the route as GPX then open the file with VeloRadar via Files or your email. The file must be a valid .gpx format.

🌀️

Weather not showing

VeloRadar uses Apple WeatherKit, which requires a valid GPS fix. Wait a few minutes after launch for a location lock. Make sure Location permission is granted (Settings β†’ Privacy β†’ Location β†’ VeloRadar β†’ While Using).

Workout not appearing in Apple Health

After completing a ride, tap Reset TRIP on the Stats screen. The workout is sent to Health at that moment. Make sure the Sync toggle is on (Settings β†’ Ride β†’ Sync rides to Apple Health) and iOS Health permission is granted.

Battery % seems off

Make sure the correct battery type is selected in Settings β†’ Ride β†’ Battery Type. For most Bafang BBS02 builds with a 48V pack, this should be "48V Li-ion (13S)" (54.0 V = 100%, 42 V = 0%).

πŸ“

Trip tracking stops when I lock my screen

Enable Settings β†’ Ride β†’ Track with screen locked. iOS will ask for "Always" location permission - this keeps the GPS, trip stats, and route recording active while the screen is off.

What iPhones are supported?

iPhone 12 or later, running iOS 17 or newer. The app is designed for handlebar-mounted use, so any modern iPhone with a mount works.
